The Sri Lankan women’s cricket team has won their maiden Asia Cup title a short while ago (July 28).
The home team bagged the Asia Cup 2024 after a 08 wicket victory against India with just 08 balls to spare.
Winning the toss, India elected to bat first and scored 165/6.
Chasing, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket early. However, the home team was able to pull themselves back on track with half centuries by Chamari Atapaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama.
Kavisha Dilhari sealed the victory with a six, bringing the Sri Lankan score to 167/2.
Harshitha Samarawickrama was named Player of the Match while Chamari Athapaththu was named Player of the Tournament.
