Jayasuriya has sent his resignation letter to sports minister Dayasiri Jayasekara and SLC chief Thilanga Sumathipala, although the latter told the media yesterday (09) that he was unaware of the chief selector’s resignation.
Other members of the selection committee were Romesh Kaluwitharana, Eric Upashantha and Ranjith Madurasinghe.
Meanwhile, SLC sources say Sumathipala had a lengthy discussion with Jayasuriya last night, although the outcome of their meeting was unknown.
