Court case against Kusal Mendis postponed to March 2021 Featured

A case against cricketer Kusal Mendis will be taken up again on May 24, 2021.

Panadura Additional Magistrate  - Chandana Kalansooriya yesterday (18) made the order after the defence lawyers presented a letter from Sri Lanka Cricket, stating that the cricketer is undergoing quarantine.

Kusal Mendis's negligent driving had caused a fatal accident in Panadura on July 06th. The victim was a 64 year old resident of the Panadura Gorakapola area.

The cricketer faces charges including causing a fatal, hit-and-run accident, not taking the victim to a hospital and negligent driving.  After being initially produced in court on July 07, he was released on two sureties of Rs. 01 million each.
