Malinda has been quizzed over the suspicious 'no-ball' bowled by him during a crucial moment, during the match against the Kandy Tuskers on Nov. 28.
Experts note that no-balls during such a crucial moment at a T-20 match is extremely rare and Malinda's foot was largely inside the crease.
It is said that Malinda was chosen for the LPL at the last moment, even though he was initially set to play another tournament in Mauritius.
Sri Lanka Cricket has already announced that the LPL 2020 will have all the necessary measures in place to protect the integrity of the tournament and will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against any wrongdoing.
The SLC and ICC Anti-Corruption Units will maintain a 24×7 hotline during the entire period of the tournament to receive information pertaining to any suspicious or corrupt activity, and also conduct Anti-Corruption Education Programs for all the players and officials, before commencing the tournament.
The ACU Hotlines for the tournament are as below.
