ICC Anti Corruption officials question SLC Asst. Manager Featured

The International Cricket Council Anti Corruption Unit has questioned Chinthaka Jayanata who is serving as a deputy manager of Sri Lanka Cricket, Srilankamirror reliably understands. 

It is learnt that the mobile phone of Jayanata has been taken into the custody of Steve Richards who is heading the investigation on Sri Lanka  on behalf of ICC ACU. 

Richards had come to the office of Sri Lanka Cricket on Wednesday (28) and had questioned Jayanata. Richards has been staying at a leading hotel in Colombo for the last three weeks and has been investigating alleged match fixing allegations. 

Sources say that investigations have focused some key figures in the cricket field who are alleged to have involved in those misdeeds. 

It is said these key figures would be questioned soon. Meanwhile, The Morning Leader newspaper reports that the particular deputy manager is “allegedly having an array of corruption charges, ranging from human trafficking for countries such as Korea and Australia. 

The official has allegedly had made human trafficking to Australia illegally in the guise of sending first-class cricketers there to play league cricket.

”The other allegations against the said officials are said to be involving various types of match-fixing, particularly in Sri Lanka domestic cricket.
