Amaya from J’pura qualifies for World University Games

Amaya Sithumini, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Sports Science and Management at the Sri Jayewardenepura University, has qualified for the rhythmic gymnastics event at the World University Games.

An alumna of Sirimavo Bandaranaike College, Colombo, Amaya would take part in the World University Games under the rhythmic gymnastics event for the first time in the history of Sri Lanka.

She is being trained under the national coach Ranjana Tharanga, and represented Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast and Birmingham.

She captained the bronze medal winning team at the 2021 South Central Asian Gymnastics Championships in Bangladesh.
