Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed the former England batsman Ian Bell as the ‘Batting Coach’ of the national team for the ongoing tour.
Bell, who has an impressive record with 7,727 runs in 118 Test matches and 22 centuries, will begin his role on August 16th and will continue until the end of the three-Test match series.
He will start working with the team on August 16th and remain until the conclusion of the three-test match series, the SLC said in a statement.
SLC CEO Ashley De Silva highlighted that Bell’s experience and local knowledge of English conditions would be invaluable in helping the Sri Lankan players during this crucial tour.
