The hosts set up a 358-run target and limited Sri Lanka to just 55 runs, which is Sri Lanka’s lowest score at a World Cup match.
Mohammed Shamil finished with figures of 5 for 18, taking his tally in this year’s tournament to 14 in just three matches.
Five Sri Lankan batsmen were dismissed for nought, with Kasun Rajitha top scoring with 14 off 17 deliveries.
