Sri Lanka’s T20I captain Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh after suffering a hamstring injury to his right leg.
The injury occurred while he was batting during the third and final ODI of the recently concluded series.
Following a medical evaluation, Hasaranga will return to Colombo to undergo rehabilitation at Sri Lanka Cricket’s High Performance Centre.
Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that no replacement will be added to the T20I squad in his absence.

Sri Lanka came back strongly in the 3rd and final ODI as they beat Bangladesh by 99 runs to win the series 2-1 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium yesterday (July 08).
Sri Lanka built up a challenging total of 285/7 followed by the Lankan bowling attack to bag a comfortable victory with 10. 2 overs to spare.
Bangladesh chasing 286 to win failed to reach the target and were all out for 186 in 38.4 overs.
Kusal Mendis who hit 124 was adjudged Player of the Match as well as Player of the Series.
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, set to begin on July 10.
The squad will be led by Charith Asalanka, with notable inclusions such as Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Wanindu Hasaranga, and the return of experienced all-rounders Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne.
