Although the Sri Lankan team has been eliminated from the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, a Sri Lankan Referee and an Umpire will take part in the Final match which will be held on the 13th.
Ranjan Madugalle will officiate as the Match Referee of T20 World Cup Final while Kumar Dharmasena will be an Umpire.
Madugalle is currently the most senior referee in the ICC Referee Panel and he has previously refereed four World Cup Finals and another four T20 World Cup Finals.
Dharmasena is also an ICC top grade umpire and has served in two World Cup finals and three T20 World Cup finals so far.
Accordingly, this will be Madugalle’s fifth and Dharmasena’s fourth T20 World Cup final.
