Rangana Herath joins NZ coaching staff

New Zealand has received a boost to their coaching stocks ahead of their upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan and ICC World Test Championship series against Sri Lanka.

Former Sri Lanka spinner Rangana Herath has joins the Kiwis as bowling coach for all three matches while ex-India batting coach Vikram Rathour has also joined the Kiwi coaching ranks.New Zealand coach Gary Stead was thrilled to have the experienced duo join his coaching setup.

“We’re really excited to introduce Rangana and Vikram into our Test group,” he said.

“Both men are held in high regard in the world of cricket and I know our players are really looking forward to the opportunity to learn from them…Rangana has taken over 100 Test wickets in Galle which is the venue of our two Tests against Sri Lanka and so his knowledge of that venue will be priceless,” he has added.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Ticket sales announced for Warne-Murali Test series

Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that tickets for the Warne-Murali Test series have been launched and can be purchased online.
Accordingly, tickets can be purchased by visiting the website www.srilankacricket.lk.

Meanwhile, tickets can be purchased from the counters on Vidya Mawatha, Colombo and the Galle International Cricket Stadium from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from January 27.

A standing ticket costs Rs. 500, and a ticket for the lower floor of the Municipal Council Sports Complex is Rs. 7,500.

Tickets for the upper floor of the Municipal Council Sports Complex, the lower floor of the Goal CC, and the VIP area are Rs. 10,000.

A ticket for the upper floor of the Goal CC Sports Complex is Rs. 12,500.

Ticket sales for one-day cricket matches will begin on February 07.
