Former cricketer Sachithra Senanayake has been given medicine from the prison hospital after he developed a wheezing condition, sources said.
Although the attention of the prison authorities was drawn to refer him to the prison hospital, the authorities have decided to keep him in the Colombo Remand Prison since several prisoners with a fever similar to measles were being treated at the hospital.
Prison sources said that the family members of Senanayake visited him in prison yesterday.
He was arrested by the Sports Offences Special Investigation Unit and remanded after being presented to the court on Wednesday (6).
