SL thrashes UAE to remain in WC

Sri Lanka thrashed the United Arab Emirates by 79 runs today (18).

After winning the toss, the UAE team opted to bowl first.

Following Sunday’s defeat against Namibia, it was crucial for Sri Lanka to win this game in order to remain in the tournament.

Sri Lanka scored 152/8 at the end of their innings with a stunning 74-run innings by Pathum Nissanka.

Chasing 153 runs to win against Sri Lanka, the UAE team was bundled out for 73 runs in 17.1 overs.

Afzal Khan was the top scorer for UAE with 19 runs.

Wanindu Hasaranga finished with 3/8 while Dushmantha Chameera had figures of 3/15 and helped Sri Lanka inflict the second defeat on the UAE side at this World Cup.
