Sri Lanka cruised to a 9-wicket win over the West Indies on Thursday (October 17), claiming their first-ever T20I series victory against the Caribbean side.

West Indies, after opting to bat first, were restricted to 162 runs as Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga took two wickets each.

Despite a shaky start, Rovman Powell (37 off 27) and Gudakesh Motie (32 off 15) helped West Indies post a competitive total.

In reply, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis (68*) and Kusal Perera (55*) dominated the chase, leading their side to victory with ease. The hosts reached 166/1 in 16.4 overs to win the series 2-1.
