Victorious SL powerlifting medalists returns to SL

The Sri Lankan powerlifting team has returned to the island after securing 05 gold medals and 01 bronze at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Championship in Australia.

This prestigious tournament saw the participation of over 500 athletes from 18 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Gold medalists include Ransilu Jayathilake,Vikum Perera, and Minura Gimhana, who also won a bronze in a senior category.

Sri Lankan-born Ruwan and Lydia Paul, now residing in Australia, also won gold in the over-50 senior divisions.

Ransilu, Vikum, and Minura arrived back in Sri Lanka last night (April 07) at 10.15 p.m. via SriLankan Airlines flight UL-605 from Melbourne.
