Zimbabwe stuns India in first T20I, records historic win

Published

on

Zimbabwe shocked newly-crowned T20 World Champions India in the first T20I of a five-match series in Harare. The Chevrons bowled India out for 102, defending their total of 115 and securing a 13-run victory.

This marks Zimbabwe’s third T20I win over India and the lowest T20I total for India against Zimbabwe.

India, chasing 116, struggled against Zimbabwe’s bowling, losing four wickets within the powerplay.

Despite a fighting 27-run knock by Washington Sundar, India fell short.

Ravi Bishnoi’s impressive 4/13 couldn’t prevent Zimbabwe’s Clive Madande from top-scoring with 29 runs.

This win sets the tone for an exciting series.
