Xi visits Wuhan for work inspection

President Xi Jinping has visited the town of - Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province today (10), which is the epicentre of the Covid-19.

The president had visited the city to inspect work on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.

According to 'China Daily', president Xi will pay visits to medical workers, People's Liberation Army commanders and soldiers, community workers, police officers, government officials, volunteers, patients and local residents.

The Chinese leader's first visit to the city since the outbreak sends a powerful signal that the government believes the worst of the national emergency is over.

Wuhan has been quarantined since Dec. 23 and president Xi's visit comes after a steady drop in infections, with just 19 new cases Tuesday, and a slight easing of restrictions within Hubei to allow some people to travel within the province.
