Monkeypox declared global emergency

The World Health Organization has decided to declare a global emergency on the monkeypox virus.

The World Health Organization has taken this decision as of yesterday (23) with more than 65,000 cases of 'monkeypox' being reported from 75 countries.

The WHO has issued a statement noting that the spread of ‘Monkeypox' can be considered a public health emergency.

Although cases of 'Monkeypox' virus have been reported around the world, no deaths have been reported so far.

Two cases of Monkeypox reported from Kerala, India!

Two cases of ‘Monkeypox' have been reported from neighboring India.

Indian health authorities have said that both patients are residents of the State of Kerala.

American medical researchers have pointed out that the outbreak is concentrated among men who have sex with men with 95% of infections being transmitted through sexual contact.

American media reports that the spread of monkeypox in America is severe, and the American government has started providing immunization vaccines at the state level.

Monkeypox is a virus commonly seen in Central and West Africa.

This is similar to chickenpox. Protection against Monkeypox is given with an immunization of the type given to protect against the chicken pox virus.
