The All Island Eggs Traders Association states that the price of an egg has dropped by Rs. 10.
Secretary of the Association, Anurasiri Marasinghe has said this was due to the rise in production and dip in demand.
Accordingly, an egg is currently priced between Rs. 28 – 30, reports say. However, prices of a 10-egg pack at supermarkets remain between Rs. 650 – Rs. 675.
