The first shipment of imported salt arrived in Sri Lanka today (Jan. 27), the State Trading Corporation (STC) has announced.
The shipment includes 1,485 MT of salt.
The Cabinet of Ministers recently approved the import of 30,000 metric tons of salt as a move to address the current shortage of salt in the country due to challenges faced by local salterns during the recent monsoon season.
