A programme will be held today (25) at 3.00 pm at the Auditorium of the Department of Archives in Colombo to mark the 25th Anniversary of the ‘Paththara Malli’ programme created by journalist Nuwan Liyanage.

Liyanage was the pioneer who created a turning point in the sphere of media by reading newspaper headlines on radio paving way for reading newspapers on television.

Lankadeepa Editor-in-Chief Sri Ranasinghe will deliver the keynote address of today’s event and Nalaka Gunawardena will make a short speech on ‘Nuwan Liyanage’s Role in Radio’.

Meanwhile, several songs written by Liyanage will be performed under the music direction of Thilina Ruhuna.

On the occasion of ‘Paththara Malli’ completing several milestones, various phrases were published on social media sites in the recent past. Some of them are shown below.

The ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ team would also like to extend our warm wishes to ‘Paththara Malli’ Nuwan Liyanage to continue the programme for many more years to come.
