The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mannar districts after 2.00 p.m.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Several spells of showers may also occur in the Eastern, North-Central, and Uva provinces, and in the Hambantota district.
Misty conditions can be expected in the morning in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts.
The public is kindly requested to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thunder-showers.
