Anura, Tilvin, Lal & Wasantha violate court orders!

Ajith Gamage (46), a father of two from Kesbewa, who was attacked with tear gas during the anti-government protest organised by the National People’s Power (NPP) last Sunday (26), is currently receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of the Colombo National Hospital.

Meanwhile, Nimal Amarasiri (60), a resident of Nivithigala, who was also receiving treatment at the intensive care unit for the injuries suffered during the water and tear gas attacks during the protest, succumbed to injuries.

He was nominated as a NPP candidate for the Nivithigala Pradeshiya Sabha. His last rites are scheduled to be held today (01) at Nivithigala.

Meanwhile, the Cinnamon Gardens Police informed the court yesterday (28) that NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake had used loudspeakers without the permission of a competent authority during the protest.

Cinnamon Gardens Police OIC Chief Inspector Aloka Bandara Senanayake reported the facts to the court regarding the protest held by the NPP in Colombo on the 26th in violation of court orders and by using loudspeakers without permission.

Police informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis that the demonstrations were held in this manner by NPP members Wasantha Samarasinghe, Lal Kantha, Tilvin Silva and others.
