A mother of two who was an Ayurvedic doctor was found killed near a house in Kalutara North, the Kalutara North Police said.
Police said the victim was identified as Wickramarachchige Premavathi, a resident of Kalido Road, Kalutara North.
The woman was found lying with cuts on her neck behind the house this morning.
A senior police officer said that Kalutara Scene of Crime Officers (SOCOs) and several special police teams have launched investigations into the incident.
Investigations are being conducted under the instructions of Kalutara North OIC Damith Jayathilaka and Crimes Division OIC Indrajith.
