Bus strike on Kesbewa-Pettah route!

Published

on

All private buses on number 120 Kesbewa – Pettah route will refrain from operations today (13), the President of the Bus Owners Association, Thusitha Rajapakshe said.

The strike has been launched in protest against the granting of a license to a new bus by the Road Passenger Transport Authority.

Mr. Rajapakshe said that there are 71 buses running on 120-route and 10 of them are given leave every day.

According to a court order in 2000, he said new buses cannot be added on route number 120.

In addition, he said the two government officials of the Road Passenger Transport Authority at the Kesbewa Bus Terminal have also been given leave.
