The Cabinet has decided to suspend the practice of calling for international tenders for the disposal of discarded items from Sri Lanka Railways and the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
Cabinet Spokesman Vijitha Herath announced that future tenders will only be open to local bidders.
This decision aims to support the needs of local industrialists and prioritize their participation in the disposal and recycling processes.
