Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said that 100 percent free uniforms from China will save the country Rs.7,000 million for 2025.
The Chinese government will provide uniforms for 4.3 million students and robes for 825 pirivena as a grant.
The first batch will arrive on November 13, followed by two more shipments in November and December.
Distribution is planned before the new school term starts on January 20, 2025.
Minister Premajayantha expressed gratitude to China for the generous support.
