Fees related to issuing NICs increased

The Public Security Ministry has issued an extraordinary gazette amending the fees charged for the services related to National Identity Cards (NICs).

According to the gazette published on Monday (23), the fee levied for the issuance of a certified copy of an NIC should be Rs.2,000.

In addition, the fees for the certification of authenticity of the particulars relating to an NIC have also been revised.

Rs.25 will be charged for the online submissions made through the Registration of Persons Department’s website. Meanwhile, the fee for submissions made by way of a physical document or electronic means acceptable to the Commissioner General has been set at Rs.500.

Meanwhile, the fee for the registration of a person as a photographer, under the Act, has been raised from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000.

The annual fee for the renewal of Certificate of Registration has been increased to Rs. 3,000 from Rs. 2,000.
