The Elections Commission has issued a gazette notification declaring the appointment of Karunarathna Paranawithana as a Member of Parliament to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Thalatha Athukorala.
Former SJB MP Thalatha Athukorala resigned as a Member of Parliament recently and hence her seat fell vacant.
