A Gazette notification has been issued announcing the appointment of former National Peoples’ Power (NPP) MP Lakshman Nipuna Arachchi as a member of Parliament.
He is to fill the parliamentary seat vacated by Anura Kumara Dissanayake who assumed duties as the ninth Executive President of Sri Lanka today (Sep. 23).
The Parliament had previously informed the Election Commision of the vacancy.
