Well known singer – Madumadawa Aravinda has been arrested yesterday (16) for causing an accident on the expressway in the Colombo Outer Circular Expressway while driving under the influence of alcohol, police say.
Expressway police had stopped him after observing that the singer, who was was traveling from Kadawata to Kerawalapitiya, had caused damages to 10 water barriers at the 20.5 kilometer area.
It is said that his vehicle as well state property have sustained damages.
He had been handed over to the Kadawatha police to be produced before courts.
Further investigations are underway.
