A 46-year-old resident of Homagama was killed in a shooting incident that took place in Niyadagala, Homagama last night (20).
Police said that he was shot at by unknown assailants when he was at home.
The victim was pronounced dead after being admitted to the Homagama Hospital.
Investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.
Meanwhile, police said that 255 murders have taken place during the first six months of this year.
Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that necessary actions have been taken to curb crime.
