Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mayantha Dissanayake said that he will resign from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF).
Speaking at a press conference held today (27), the MP said that the Speaker will be officially informed about this decision today.
The Parliamentary Select Committee appointed MP Dissanayake as the COPF Chairman on February 23. SJB MP Dr. Harsha De Silva was also nominated for the same position.
Therefore, a controversy arose over the situation.
