SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa has resigned from his position as Chairman of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced today (Aug. 06).
In a parliamentary session, the Speaker revealed that Parliamentarian Premanath C. Dolawatte had been appointed to fill the vacancy left by Rajapaksa’s resignation.
The decision had been made during the committee meeting convened on August 2, 2024, where Dolawatte was chosen as a new member of the committee.
