Minister Vijitha Herath has instructed officials to seamlessly connect the Western Province with other Provinces when obtaining vehicle revenue licenses.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Highways, Ports, and Aviation states that a key issue faced by the public in obtaining vehicle revenue licenses was the lack of coordination between inter-provincial systems.
Even though it is claimed that such systems have been established, the statement said it has not yet been implemented for the Western Province, where such a service is needed the most.
If a vehicle of an owner from Western Province was previously registered in another province, obtaining the revenue licence becomes a very difficult task consuming time, energy and money.
Accordingly, Minister Vijitha Herath has instructed the Western Province Governor to order the relevant department officials to take the necessary measures.
