A clash between two groups had led to the sudden closure of a Triumph sale at Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla on Feb. 24.

According to reports, the intimate wear sale with hefty discounts had attracted a large crowd after exposure on social media.

However, social media posts had also criticised the organisers for their disorganized manner and also for not providing enough products.

According to reports, over a 1,000 persons have been waiting in a queue that was over a kilometre long.

A clash had ensued after certain persons had attempted to purchase in bulk despite many others waiting in line.

The Thalangama police had been forced to intervene in this backdrop.

The company behind the sale had said that the sale was organized targeting the pay day of the state sector.
