A special police investigation has been launched into the death of the domestic aide of Salaka Senkada group owner Gamini Nethicumara’s ex-wife and teledrama producer Sudharma. The domestic aide died after being hospitalized while detained under police custody.
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Nugegoda Division J. P. S. Jayamaha and the statements of the Welikada Police officers who were on duty on May 13, including the OIC, are to be obtained.
On the 11th, Sudharma had filed a complaint with the Welikada Police that the woman had stolen her gold ring.
Subsequently, the Welikada Police arrested the domestic aide.
She was a 42-year-old woman from Demodara, Nawala Watta in Badulla.
