The relatives of the missing persons of Vavuniya District hurled rotten tomatoes at a banner bearing the image of Tamil MPs on the International Human Rights Day (10).

The relatives of the disappeared accused the members of parliament representing the Tamil community and the Tamil political party leaders of deceiving them.

They alleged that MPs of Tamil political parties have failed to intervene properly to find solutions to their plights.

As negotiations with local lawmakers have not become successful, the concerned group engaged in a protest demanding the intervention of the United States or the European Union to provide solutions to their plights.

The relatives of the missing persons of Vavuniya District are engaged in a continuous fast for 2,120 days as of December 10, demanding that their missing relatives be found.

The protests were held in Vavuniya and Mullaitivu.
