Arrangements are currently being made to appoint former minister Ravi Karunanayake to the position of General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP).
Meanwhile, incumbent General Secretary Palitha Rangebandara is to be appointed as a Governor.
Karunanayake is to be given responsibilities to reorganise the UNP with new vigor aiming at the upcoming elections and Rangebandara will be given another position in the party in addition to the Provincial Governorship.
