Legal action will be taken against the registrars who are not careful in writing birth, marriage and death certificates, Home Affairs State Minister Ashoka Priyantha said.
It has been revealed in a discussion held with the officials of the Registrar General’s Department that errors occur due to the negligence of officials in some cases of writing these certificates.
State Minister Priyantha has given instructions to the officials of the Registrar General’s Department in this regard and emphasized the need to implement a special programme to avoid errors in birth, marriage and death certificates.
