Four undergraduates were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for trespassing into one of the hostels of the Sabaragamuwa University and assaulting and injuring first year students.
The arrested aged 23, 24 and 25 are residents of Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Ambalangoda and Welimada.
They were released on bail after being produced in the Balangoda Magistrate’s Court.
The suspects, being members of an illegal assembly, had entered the hostel on February 15 and assaulted the new students.
