Veteran journalist Seetha Ranjani passed away in Anuradhapura yesterday (Feb. 16).
She was 70 years old.
The remains are currently laid at No. 430/4, Madagammana Mawatha, Katukeliyawa, Anuradhapura.
Final rites will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 18) at 4.00pm at the Katukeliyawa Cemetery.
A founding member of the Free Media Movement (FMM), Ms. Seetha Ranjani served as its Convener and Secretary for a prolonged period.
She also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka in 2023 and the D. F. Kariyakarawana Memorial Award of the Sri Lanka Press Association in 2018.
