The special Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team investigating the death of Raj Kumari, the domestic aide of teledrama producer Sudharma Nethicumara who is the ex-wife of Salaka Senkada Group owner Gamini Nethicumara, has revealed several crucial details about her death.
The CID said that a police team had also gone to Bandarawela, where she was residing.
The CID has revealed that the arrested victim was assaulted by the police officers. After her death, the Welikada Police had attempted to send her body to the Colombo National Hospital as an unknown person’s body.
Investigations also revealed that Nethicumara’s complaint that her house had been broken into has been formally entered as a complaint by the Welikada police officers only after the death of the victim.
The CID is also conducting a special investigation into the incident of police officers visiting the house of Ms.Nethicumara to take down the complaint.
Sudharma Nethicumara had arrived at the Welikada Police on Saturday (10) and submitted a detailed complaint related to the theft that took place at her home in Cooray Mawatha, Rajagiriya, between March 26 and May 3.
She said that gold items, perfumes and cosmetics worth Rs.1,914,000 have been stolen by the perpetrators.
According to the information revealed by the CID, several police officers are to be arrested soon in connection with this murder.
