A shooter involved in the killing of Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as Club Wasantha, in Athurugiriya has revealed that the assassination was carried out under the direction of Loku Patti, on a contract from Kanjipani Imran.

The main shooter, Ajith Rohana alias Chandi, a former soldier, was arrested on August 23 while hiding in a house in Dehiwala.

Chandi, a 31-year-old resident of Ahungalla Makumbura, is closely associated with Loku Patti, who was arrested in Belarus.

Along with Chandi, police arrested Mohammad Imran, 40, who leased the house, and Indika De Silva alias Sanka, 29, who provided shelter to the shooters before the attack.

The suspects are being detained for 72 hours for further interrogation by the Terrorism Investigation Division.
