Katunayake Police have arrested six Indian nationals for staying in Sri Lanka without valid visa documents and one individual for possession of illegally imported cigarettes.
The arrests were made during a search in the Andiambalama area on July 11, based on a tip-off about suspicious foreigners in the area.
One individual was found with 1,000 sticks of illegally imported cigarettes.
The arrested individuals are aged 25, 26, 33, 38, 39, and 42. Further investigations are being conducted by Katunayake Police.
