The Fort Magistrate’s Court has issued summons to former Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Janaka Rathnayake.
He has been accused of allegedly exploiting an unmarried woman by employing her as his personal secretary, continuously abusing her, recording videos, and threatening to release them.
The Cyber Crimes Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the court that he has been named as a suspect in the case.
Accordingly, summons have been issued for him to appear before the court on April 2.
