A nine year old with critical, multiple stab injuries, said to be committed by a 14-year old, has been admitted to the Hambantota Base Hospital.
The 14-year old had also been admitted to the Embilipitiya Hospital after drinking poison, following the stabbing.
The stabbing had taken place yesterday (June 05) in the Angunakolapelessa Wetiya area in Hambantota.
The children are both neighbours and friends and according to authorities the 14 year old is addicted to video games.
