Vehicle suspected to be linked to Gampaha shooting, found

The vehicle believed to have been used by gunmen who murdered a Buddhist monk in Gampaha District earlier today (Jan. 23) has been found aflame in a deserted area in Kaduwela, police say.

It is reported that the vehicle in question had been burnt beyond recognition, when found.

Meanwhile, police say that a white vehicle bearing the same number plate number CAO-5345 that was seen on the vehicle in which the suspects had fled the crime scene, had been found at a garage in Eluwila, Panadura.
