WB appoints new Country Director for Maldives, Nepal, SL

The World Bank has appointed David Sislen as the new Country Director for the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, effective July 1, 2024.

Sislen, who joined the World Bank in 2001, succeeds Faris Hadad-Zervos. 

His recent role was Practice Manager for Urban, Disaster Risk Management, and Land in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Sislen’s priority will be strategic dialogue and operational engagements, overseeing a portfolio of around USD 4.8 billion.
