Multiple students were injured Tuesday morning (Nov. 19) after being struck by a car outside a primary school in Changde City, central China’s Hunan Province, state news agency Xinhua has reported.
The incident had taken place outside the Yongan Primary school in Changde city as students were coming in for the day.
It is reported that several adults were also injured and that the driver of a white SUV had been subdued by parents and security guards.
“Many” children were injured in the incident, but the specific number of casualties is still being determined, state-run China Central Television (CCTV) has said.
CCTV had not also specified whether the crash was believed to be an accident or deliberate.
